Bolton Samhain

We gathered by candlelight in the Unitarian Chapel.   In an opening meditation we recalled the purpose of Samhain – to remember and honour our departed ancestors and loved ones.   Samhain was also the time to take life forward inspired by them and letting go of memories and sorrows from dark times in our own lives.     We spoke about a significant person in our lives whose presence is still strong in the heart.   We looked at photos and handled objects that they had once handled.   We listened to a favourite piece of music.  A candle was lit for each one.   It was a blessed time for us.
