Visit to Lancaster Castle   29th July 2017

It was at Lancaster Castle that the Pendle Witches were tried and executed  in 1612 for the murder of ten people by witchcraft.     There are tours of the castle, the courts and the cells where the ‘witches’ were held.   We are going to visit on 29th July and join the public tour of the castle which begins at 2.00pm.   I have assumed a party of eight.   Cost is £8.00  (£6.50 concs).     (We might be able to get cheaper family tickets if we can convince the desk some of us are still children)   I have been warned that the castle tour involves climbing stairs and walking on uneven floors.    The cafe has a screen that shows a virtual tour.    We will retire for afternoon tea afterwards and discuss the experience !     E mail, txt or msg me if you intend to come and if you will need a lift.    Tony
